The clients for this bar are two lawyers turned bar tenders who dreamed of opening their own friendly neighborhood establishment. Located in Echo Park in an old brick building, The Semi-Tropic (named after a spiritualist group in the area) blends the natural beauty of the existing building with a tropical vibe that meets the late 1800s fascination with electricity, magnetism, and magic. Our clients did a fair amount of the demo and finish work themselves. The entire project being a great collaboration between client, architects, and contractor to achieve their dream at a very tight budget.
