office42 architecture is working with American Family Housing to convert an existing 133-unit Extended Stay America hotel into a modern 120-unit apartment building that includes new 1 and 2-bedroom units for the property managers. Originally built in 1999, the renovated building will feature ADA upgrades throughout the site with new trash/recycling chutes and a number of units with new ADA compliant kitchens and bathrooms. The complex will also include new amenities like a multipurpose community room with computer stations and full kitchen as well as office and support spaces for property management and supportive service staff to assist the residents. In addition to the interior upgrades, the site plan will have new landscaping with an outdoor patio and an accessible and permeable pedestrian path that leads out through the new street-front fence and gates.
