With the infux of H and HHH funding, the City has converted the existing third foor level in the Hollywood YWCA building into new interim housing for 64 homeless women and looked to offce42 architecture to handle ADA upgrades. Due to the historic nature of the building and the short time-line of the project, there were many challenges, but within 10 days of starting the project permits were obtained. Through case management meetings with the Department of Building and Safety as well as Historic Preservation Departments, we were able to create an ADA strategy that satisfed both accessibility requirements without sacrifcing the historical conditions of the building.
